After being in the house for over two years, I am ready to travel. Let us be clear, the coronavirus is still a thing. To make it worse, Covid-19 brought her cousin Omarion Covid.
In all seriousness, it was very important for me to choose a destination that has strict Covid-19 mandates and safety protocols. Las Vegas was not messing around. In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Las Vegas, the State of Nevada has mandated that everyone, including fully vaccinated individuals, wear a mask in public indoor settings, including resorts and casinos, restaurants, bars, showrooms and meeting spaces. Vegas her I come! but first I have to pack…
Pack with Me: Louis Vuitton Toiletry, Keepall and Palm Springs Backpack
We are going to Las Vegas. The goal here is to not overpack. Good luck with that, but lets try.
I am using one large rolling suitcase, a Louis Vuitton Keepall (size 55), and a Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Backpack (size MM). However, regardless of the travel bags you choose, you still shouldn’t pack them capacity. How do we avoid overpacking?
Well, the first thing I like to do is check the weather of my destination. Check the weather for each day of your stay, including the locations during your travel days. That way you’ll know not to pack a coat if the entire trip will be sunny and warm. Next, try on the outfits that you wanna take. Literally, try them on. Give yourself a fashion show. Why? Well, the biggest reason is that you wanna make sure everything still fits, but it will also help you to avoid going into survival mode. Sometime leaving the comfort zone of your home triggers a mental switch to survival mode. Basically, you will end up packing a suitcase filled with “what if” items. If you don’t regularly go swimming at home, there’s a good chance you won’t need a swimsuit while on vacation.
So now that we know what we are taking, we need to get organized. Packing is best done modularly. I like to use packing cubes that I got off of Amazon. Place each outfit in its own packing cube to ensure you are bring all the parts of your look. You will be very frustrated if you forget the belt that you need to synch in your blazer. By keeping your looks separate and together, you’ll save time and energy later when you are getting dressed.
What’s in my carry on?
I probably do not have to say this, but just in case…please don’t forget to keep some form of identification on you. Even if you don’t need a passport to board a flight, it’s a good idea to keep at least a photo ID on your person just in case you misplace your other forms of identification or your bag is delayed. You may not be able to check into a hotel or collect a rental car without proper identification.
Now I know it’s 2022 and most airports and planes now have charging ports and stations. However, the coronavirus is still a thing. Making sure you pack your own charging devices is safe and convenient way to keep you fully charged. You can ensure your electronic devices remains fully charged for the duration of the trip with little to no risk. Finally, travel size toiletries and a change of underwear. Carrying a fresh set of undergarments and toiletries will make the world of difference if you find yourself stuck at the airport for a long period of time. I promise it will help you to feel better for the duration of your journey.
