Rumor has it that April 1, 2022, Louis Vuitton’s ever so popular bumbag will no longer be available to purchase from the mega fashion house. Louis Vuitton has decided to discontinue the monogram, the world tour and the Empreinte leather. So….basically all of them.
Now depending on who you ask, the reasons will vary. Some believe they are being cancelled due to its problematic design, some think that its due to its lower price point, and some just think its Louis Vutiion playing with our emotions.
If I had to choose a fence, it would be the ladder. Now let us be clear. I don’t think LV has decided to remove the bumbag from its lineup just to irritate the consumer. Us. However, I do believe that it is the name of the luxury game that we all signed up to play.
Contrary to popular belief, luxury items are not meant to be readily available. The three top leaders in the luxury designer game are definitely not aiming to let everyone purchases their most coveted pieces. If designer items were readily available, if everyone were able to purchase that desired handbag – would it be considered luxury? Probably not.
Are you a day late and a dollar short? Also probably. The announcement of the cancellation has made the hype around this bag even louder. If you have a Client Advisor (CA), contact them immediately, but don’t get your hopes up. Again, EVERYONE wants this bag. Now of course there are other options. There is the preloved market, a personal shopper, and the consignment route, but be careful. Be vigilant. Scammers are ready to pounce on this opportunity. Not to mention the price is going to skyrocket way above the retail price.
No worries though, we have options. In this video, I share some alternatives that are quite comparable to the Louis Vuitton Bumbag that are still reasonable priced.
